Your first nude photo shoot: how to prepare and stop worrying

“I have never been photographed like this before.”

It is completely normal to say that to a photographer.

You do not need modelling experience, professional posing skills or advance knowledge of what to do in front of the camera for your first nude or erotic photo shoot.

That is already my job as the photographer.

You are not expected to enter the studio and become a professional model in the first minute.

I am much more interested in gradually removing the feeling that you need to perform for the camera.

“I do not know how to pose”

You do not need to.

During the session I help with body position, hands, expression and movement. I will suggest how to stand, where to turn or how to adjust your position so it works better in the frame.

But I do not want the shoot to become an endless list of commands.

The most interesting photographs often appear between posed frames: in a movement, an unplanned look, a gesture or the moment you finally stop wondering whether you are standing correctly.

You do not need to know how to pose. You only need to let me see you.

“What if I do not like my body?”

This is one of the most common concerns before a photo shoot.

“I will lose weight first.” “I am not photogenic.” “I do not have a model’s figure.” “I do not like this part of my body.”

There is no single “correct” body type for nude photography.

A camera sees a person differently from a mirror. A small change in light, body angle, shoulder position or viewpoint can completely change the character of a photograph.

That does not mean hiding your “flaws”. It means allowing the body, light and composition to work together.

My job is not to turn you into someone else. It is to show you in a way that lets you notice something in yourself you may not have seen before.

What should you bring?

You do not need a suitcase full of clothes.

Before the session we can discuss the result you want and choose several looks. This may include lingerie, a bodysuit, shirt, jacket, dress, jewellery or anything in which you like yourself.

You can send me photographs you enjoy, not so we can copy them, but so I can understand your taste and the mood you want. I will also help with styling and location.

For a lingerie shoot, the most important thing is that it fits well and makes you feel confident. Before a nude shoot, avoid very tight clothes that may leave marks on the skin.

You do not need to radically change yourself before the session. Come as yourself.

Do you have to undress immediately?

No.

I like a shoot to develop gradually. We can begin with a regular portrait or a more covered look, giving you time to get to know me and become comfortable with the camera, light and process.

Then, if it feels right, we can move to lingerie or more open images.

There is no moment when a photographer should say, “Now you have to undress.” The pace belongs to you.

What will happen to my photographs?

This is a crucial question in nude and erotic photography.

These images can be deeply personal. Permission to show some work in my portfolio never means an automatic right to publish everything we create.

Publication is discussed separately. The session can be made entirely for you: not for Instagram, not for a partner and not to prove anything to anyone.

Simply for yourself. That is a completely valid reason to book a shoot.

What will your photo shoot look like?

I will not know until we meet, and I like it that way.

It may be a gentle boudoir story, minimalist black-and-white nude photography, fashion with a sensual mood, an open erotic series or your own idea.

I do not want to offer everyone the same scenario.
